The Amazon seasonal calendar: 30 core seasons, 150 micro seasons.

Amazon demand does not move in quarters. It moves in windows of two to eight weeks, over a hundred times a year. This is the calendar Autopilot runs seasonal listing optimization against: every core season, micro season and tent pole event we track, with dates, trending categories and demand tiers, updated for the 2026 cycle.

Done for you. Starting at $800 per month.

How to read this calendar

How to read the Amazon seasonal calendar

A seasonal window on Amazon typically runs about eight weeks, and the search shift starts well before the event. Shoppers search Halloween costumes in September and holiday tableware in October. Content that changes when demand peaks has already missed the window: the listing needs to move before the curve, which for fall selling means mid-August.

We track two layers. Core seasons are the long arcs: 30 windows like Back to School, holiday gifting and Spring Decor that shape whole categories for months. Micro seasons and tent pole events are the 150 short, sharp windows inside and between them: Dry January, the Super Bowl, Prime-style deal events, last-minute gifting. Most catalogs are optimized for the first layer at best. The winners are decided in the second.

Publishing against this calendar is not keyword stuffing. Stuff a listing for one event and it loses its evergreen rankings. Ignore the calendar and the listing feels out of context exactly when demand peaks. We track all 150 windows; a typical catalog publishes against 35+ of them, chosen by category fit and demand tier.

What we do with it

Seasonal listing optimization is a publishing problem

Knowing the windows is the easy half. Publishing against them, across a full catalog, without breaking evergreen rankings, is the work.

Content moves before demand

Each keyword market gets seasonal context mapped in advance and published ahead of its window, at 2 to 3 updates per ASIN per month. Seasonal optimization is System 03 of Amazon Listing Optimization.

Nothing publishes unseen

Every seasonal update runs through review-first mode, and go-live verification confirms what Amazon actually shows. When a window closes, content transitions instead of lingering: no Christmas bullets in February.

Evergreen stays protected

Seasonal context integrates into the listing without displacing the core keyword positions that carry the other ten months. The thinking behind this is in our seasonality deep dive.

Amazon seasonality questions, answered

What is a micro season on Amazon?

A short demand window, usually two to six weeks, where search behavior shifts around a specific occasion, habit or event: Dry January, back-to-work desk refresh, last-minute gifting. Individually smaller than a core season, but there are 150 of them a year, and they stack. Listings that carry the right context in the right window win searches that generic listings never see.

What is a tent pole event?

The anchor moments the retail year is built around: Prime-style deal events, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the Super Bowl, Mother's Day, Christmas. Tent poles concentrate enormous demand into days rather than weeks, so lead time matters most there: the search shift starts weeks before the date, and the listing has to be in place before it.

When should we start optimizing for Q4?

Mid-August to early September for fall windows, and by early October for the holiday arc. Seasonal windows run about eight weeks and shoppers search early. A listing optimized in November for Christmas terms spends the highest-demand weeks of the year climbing instead of ranking.

How many of these windows should one catalog target?

Not all 150. We track the full calendar; a typical catalog publishes against 35+ micro seasons and tent pole events, selected by category fit and demand tier. A supplement brand and a toy brand share maybe a dozen windows and diverge on the rest. The selection is part of the program, not a menu you have to manage.

How current is this calendar?

This is the 2026 edition: every date on this page is a 2026 window, updated when the market moves mid-year, because deal events shift, sports calendars change, and new windows emerge. The 2027 calendar will be published on this page in Q4 2026, so brands can plan the year before it starts.

How do you optimize an Amazon listing for a season without losing evergreen rank?

Seasonal context integrates into the existing listing instead of replacing it. The core keyword positions that carry the other ten months stay in place while seasonal terms join titles, item highlights and backend fields for the window. Every update runs through review-first mode, go-live verification confirms what published, and when the window closes the content transitions out on schedule. Stuffing a listing for one event and unwinding it by hand is how evergreen rank gets lost. Scheduled transitions are how it survives.

Which of these windows is your catalog missing?

Autopilot is an Amazon listing optimization and AI discovery service. Since 2023 it has published more than 2 million listing updates for 450+ brands. The free audit maps your catalog against this calendar: which seasonal keyword markets you already win, which windows your categories should own, and where content arrives too late to matter.
